I’ve been playing go for 50 years. My level at present on PandaNet is 3-dan, but I find myself unable to improve. I have ups and downs and about once every month I find myself losing ten games in a row, so I get demoted. Please tell me what one should do at times like this. |

Hello, Mr. Kiyoshima. Thank you for your question.
You’ve had a long go career. That’s great. I also often suffer from losing streaks – it’s really depressing, isn’t it? At such times, I get unsettled and impatient, and nothing goes right for me, so I try to take my mind off go. If the weather’s good, I go for a walk or listen to my favourite music to ‘reset’ my mind before I play another game. I think the important thing is to relax and play your natural game without worrying too much about losing streaks. |
