Match Configuration

Before playing a game, you may wish to first configure match conditions, which includes options such as time preferences and handicap. To do this, click on the Main window Setup button, then click Setup game conditions.

Config 1:

To set, cancel, or change your Match Conditions, click the Change button under the Config 1 tab, this brings up the Match Conditions window. This window has two tabs, one for PandaNet style and one for Byoyomi style conditions. Under either tab you have options for choosing color, setting handicap, selecting board size, setting the initial and byoyomi times, and the number of stones to be played in byoyomi. By clicking on range edit, you may specify a range for Initial time, perhaps 1 to 10 minutes, the Byoyomi time, perhaps from 5 to 30 minutes, and the number of Byoyomi stones, perhaps 10 to 25 stones. If you decide you do not want a range for any option, simply click no range for system default.

Under the Byoyomi Style tab there is also the option to use and set ranges for Koryo time. Koryo time involves having more than one byoyomi period. Once you make your selections and close the Setup windows, the Match Conditions you have set appear in the Terminal window so you may check them. The Match Conditions other players have set appear in the Match Settings column of the Users window, along with the appropriate icon indicating which style they have set. Match Conditions also appear in the Match request window.
