General information |

There are two groups: one is the Main Championship which is open to players
of any rank and the other group is for ranked players (PANDANET will decide
in which group you will participate, depending on the number of players).
In each group the participants will play a preliminary round. In the Main
Championship the top-16 will qualify for the finals. In the ranked groups
the top-8 go to the final stages.

The time allowance is 10 minutes per side, with an overtime of 25 moves every 15 minutes. |
Playing conditions |

All games on even, Black gives a 6½ point komi. |

The computer will decide during the draw who will play black and white. |

Main tournament |
|
|
|
The 16 players who win their way through the preliminary main championship
will compete in the finals of the main championship.
The 8 players who win their way through the preliminary ranked championship
will compete in the finals of the ranked championship.
The drawing of the finals will be decided by the tournament office.
The days the games will be played is negotiated by the players themselves
but must be within the specified period.

Qualifications for Participation |

Participation is open only to amateurs. |
|
Games must be played on IGS-PANDANET. |
|
Players must be able to communicate by E-mail. |
|
|
Participants in the
ranked groups must have played 20 or more rated games by August 22
(IGS local time) and had their rank confirmed.
(In case '?' is added to the rank indication,
it means the player is not yet certified by us.)

|
Participants in the
main championship are not required to have their ranks verified.
|
|
|
Players in the
BC (beginners class) rank are not allowed to participate.
|

Notices and manners |
|
|
|
|
When you play a tournament
game, please do it in the official tournament room.
|
|
|
Play the game by yourself.
Any advice or replacement by other people is not allowed.
|
|
|
In principle please play at your home.
Since we may check the origin of access, please inform us beforehand
when you play at a venue such as a Go club or Go society where lots
of Go players gather.
|
|
|
We don't want your
ranking is intentionally lowered by deliberately losing games.
|
|
|
When you start a game
please exchange a greeting to start and do the same when you finish.
When you have been abused or treated impolitely, please let us know.
|
|
|
In case you end up in
a position which leaves no hope to win we hope you will resign instead of
dragging on the game.
|
|
|
On the other hand,
when your opponent seems to keep on playing while being in a lost position
please continue the game without pressing him/her to give up.
But please let us know in case you cannot finish a game due to your
opponent who keeps on playing useless moves.

|
|
You may be disqualified
in case we find out you violated the guidelines for manners and/or violated
rules
(even after the game result is confirmed)
