Players participate in either Even Games or Handicap Games.
All contestants will play in a preliminary tournament, and the top 16 contestants will compete in the final tournament.

Even Games
Time allowance |

The time allowance is 10 minutes per side, with overtime of 25 moves every 15 minutes. |
Playing conditions |

All games on even, Black gives a komi of 6 1/2. |
Color |

In the preliminary tournament, the contestants decide among themselves who takes Black. In the main tournament, this will be decided by the tournament organizers by drawing lots. |

Handicap Games

The time allowance is 10 minutes per side, with overtime of 25 moves every 15 minutes. |

Every handicapped games are proceeded according to the proper
playing conditions of Pandanet rule.
The lower-ranked player takes one stone for each rank difference.
The maximum handicap is nine stones and reverse-komi 5 1/2.
Therefore in games with a difference of 9.5d or more the handicap will be nine stones and reverse-komi 5 1/2. [ Please refer the table when you have a trouble. ]
Way of decision of color, number of stones and komi are as follows;
· Preliminary tournament···Ranking when the said game is played.
· Main tournament···Ranking when the each matching is fixed. |

The lower-ranked player takes Black.
If players are of the same rank,in the preliminary tournament please decide by mutual talk or utilization of nigiri function when starting and in the main tournament by a lottery to becontrolled with the tournament office. |

Preliminary Tournament |
|
|
|
The participants will play freely among themselves, and must complete at least six games within the specified period. (You can't play the same opponent twice.) Places will be decided by the method described below, and the top 16 placegetters will qualify for the main tournament.

Points will be obtained by the following system, and the players will be ranked in descending order of their points totals.
points = W / N + W * 0.02
(W = number of wins, N = number of games) |
2. |
When players have the same number of points, the player with the greater number of wins will be ranked higher. |
3. |
When the players are still tied, the player with the higher SOS (sum of opponents' scores) will be ranked higher. |
4. |
When the players are still tied, the player with more wins with white will be ranked higher. |
5. |
If the players are still tied, they will be ranked equal. |

Main Tournament |
|
|
|
The 16 players who win their way through the preliminary tournament will compete in the main tournament. The draws will be decided by the tournament office. The days of the games will be decided by consultation among the players, but must be within the specified period.

Qualifications for Participation |
|
|
1. |
Participation is open only to amateurs (professionals cannot compete). |
2. |
Games must be played on IGS. |
3. |
Players must be able to communicate by e-mail. |
|
|
Participants in the handicap block must have played 20 or more rated games by August 23 (IGS Local Times) and had their rank confirmed. (Provisional : In case this word is added together with a ranking indication, it means the player is not yet certified by us.)
|
|
|
Participants in the even block are not required to have their ranks verified, but they cannot compete with BC(beginners class).
|
|
|
No entry fee.
|
|
|
|

Notices and manners to be followed |
|
|
|
|
When you play a game, please do it at the formal room as decided. Play the game by yourself. Any advice or to be replayced by other people is not allowed.
|
|
|
In principle please play at your home. Because we may check the origin of access, so we hope to be informed beforehand when you play at such as Go saloon and or Go circle where lots of people gather around.
|
|
|
We don't want your ranking is downed intentionally through the deliberate loss of the game. When you start a game please exchange a greeting to start, and do same when you finish. When you have abused or treated impolitely, please let us know.
|
|
|
In case there is no possibility to recover a game we hope to give up early.
|
|
|
On the contrary, when your opponent seems to keep playing under a big difference please continue the game without pressing to give up. But please let us know in case you cannot finish a game due your opponent keeps a to play uselessly.
|
|
|
You may be disqualified in case your too much violation in manner and rule is found later. (even if after the game or the rusult is confirmed)
