Up until this game, I had only regrettable memories of semifinal and play-offs to decide challengers. The Kansai Women's Tournament was the first victory of my career. This is a memorable game for me, a win that made me very happy. It's the only game I can boast about, so please let me introduce it. (laughs)

The scene at the end of a game

I had black. From the start, the play was territorial, with little variation. It was an important game, and my play seems to show that I wanted to play carefully. In the middle game, I had territory and no thin groups, so I thought the game was an easy one for Black to play.

However, White built thickness with 82 to 92, and Black was the one who had to worry about her thinness. I think that instead of 83 jumping to 11-5 would have been better.

Later, a contact fight started at the bottom, with many difficult choices, but somehow I was able to wrap it up safely and my win was decided.

This was a public game, so when it ended there was applause from the audience. I felt relieved I had won, and the thought that fans had come to cheer for me made me feel warm inside. I remember that I was really happy.

Several years have passed . . . I've done nothing special in my career. I'll do my best so that I can appear on a stage like that once again.
