Hello, Ms. Kato.
I am 18 years old and my go strength is about 1-kyu. Professionals often replay a game after finishing it, but when I try to do so I immediately lose track. I can remember where I played, but not where the opponent played. Please tell me what the knack of remembering onefs games is.

Hello, Mr. Hayashibara. Thank you for your question.
First of all, you are quite strong if you can remember your own moves. Usually people canft even do that . . .
To be frank, there is no knack, apart from getting stronger. The stronger you get, the more you think about the reasons behind your moves and more you think about the best way to answer your opponentfs moves. You analyse more and this means that the moves played make a deeper impression on you.
Not being able to replay your games is not something to worry about very much. You are still young and youfll get stronger quickly, so Ifm sure the day will come when you can smoothly replay your games.
Ifm not sure if this will help, but how about playing over professional games and trying to replay the first 100 moves without looking at the game record? It doesnft matter if you donft understand the games fully. By repeatedly playing over games, you will develop your intuitive feel for good shape and so on. This is a study method I often used when I was a child . . .
I hope that you do your best and keep enjoying go so that you get stronger. Ifm rooting for you.
