People say Ifm slack at taking territory. I learnt go by myself and was brought up on handicap games, so this is probably not mistaken.

These are the solutions I thought of.
1. Develop my feel for go by playing through professional games.
2. Train myself to play fast while focussing on speed for a while.
3. Become stronger at rescuing weak groups by studying life-and-death problems.
4. Others.

Superficial though they are, these are my countermeasures. What do you think? Please give me some advice.

Mr. Takahashi, I guess that you favour thickness. Thatfs not an easy way to play, and if you add territory, youfll become really strong.

I suppose the problem is that sometimes you donft take enough territory. If you are really implementing the program from 1 to 4 above, your study method is close to a professionalfs. That will be of use in various situations. But thatfs not enough?

If you become too slack at taking territory, how about carrying out positional assessments during the game by surveying the overall balance? If you do so, the other elements of your game apart from thickness will also be strengthened.

I yearn to be able to play a thick style. Unlike you, I tend to go too much for territory . . .
