Dear Readers,
There’s an old saying that three cold days followed by four warm days means spring is approaching. Well-said, this is how spring comes to us every year.
I would like to share my recent experience with you on some foods that are added to my list of favorites. Every Japanese loves Sushi but Ikura (salmon roe), Uni (sea urchin), maguro (tuna), chu-toro (fat-rich part of tuna) were not my favorites, because basically I don’t like eating anything raw. However among these, Ikura is now one of my favorites. It used to be that I could not stand the feeling of Ikura bursting in my mouth but now I can really enjoy its taste.
Second dish added to my favorites is motsu-nabe (pot of guts). The reason I could appreciate motsu-nabe this time is it had no smell peculiar to guts. By the way, I would suggest that it would be better without knowing what part of the internal organs you have just tasted. Nonetheless I still can’t mange to taste tongue. After all it’s a tongue, isn’t it? Just impossible!
It’s really a pleasure to taste delicious foods but you’ll get worried about your waist. These days I am repeating a cycle of eating, on diet, eating, on diet and so on….
