What are your goals in 2005 (in go or in your private life)? Thank you for a question that matches the season. Well, one of my goals remains unchanged from year to year: to make go known to more and more people, and, through go, to bring more happiness and pleasure into people’s lives. This goal may seem a little abstract, but it is the answer I came up with when I confronted myself with the question: Why do you want to spread go? In the future, I intend to go to places where go has not yet developed and help the people who are working so hard to spread the game. Of course, I want to teach children, but I would also like people with visual and physical handicaps to enjoy the game. To be concrete, I’m planning to visit Africa in spring to spread go. I hope to write a report on my visit, so please keep an eye out for it. In my private life, I’m ashamed to confess, my goals are to improve at Italian and at tidying up the house.
