My go rank is about 13-kyu. Quite often, when I'm playing, my opponent's territory gets too big without my noticing it. |
By the time I do notice, it's too late. What should I do to overcome this problem? |

I wonder if you have got into the habit of following your opponent around the board, answering every move he or she makes. |
Try to focus not just on the local position and the opponent's moves; instead, try to develop the habit of looking at the whole board. |
Probably the most difficult thing in go but also the most fascinating is whole-board balance. |
It may be difficult at first, but one way to do this is, from time to time, to sit up straight in your chair and consciously survey the whole board; then take a deep breath and make a fresh start in the game. |
