Xavier is a doctor who works in a hospital in Geneva. When he can find the time from work and from bringing up his children, he’s working hard to produce Switzerland’s first go magazine. The title will be ‘Revue Lemanique de GO’. As you can see from the title, the magazine is to be created for the enjoyment of the go clubs and fans who live near the beautiful Lake Leman, which is the symbol of French-speaking Switzerland.
‘I believe that go is not only a game but also a form of therapy and welfare and can be used as a tool for the benefit of society. My dream is to found a Go Academy one day where one can study all the different aspects of go.’
Xavier has no sponsors and is doing all the work by hand, but I was impressed by his dedication and enthusiasm. If things work out well, the magazine will be published three times a year. The memorable first issue is scheduled for early next year. I can’t wait. |
